Clinch Ant Bait is a granular insecticide used to control fire ants and pavement ants. The active ingredient is Abamectin at a concentration of 0.011%. It is designed for use in certain terrestrial food crops, around barns, chicken houses, and various agricultural equipment. The product works by providing a bait that workers ants collect and distribute throughout the colony, eventually leading to the elimination of the ant colony. It can be applied via ground application using properly calibrated equipment or via aerial application using rotary or fixed-wing aircraft. For individual mound treatment, the bait should be sprinkled in a uniform circle around the base of the mound. Users should avoid applying the product near water bodies, access to livestock, or within 25 feet of lakes, rivers, or streams. It is important to follow resistance management protocols, such as rotating with other Group 6 insecticides, to prevent pest resistance. Always wear appropriate PPE, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, and protective eyewear, to avoid skin and eye irritation.
