Siesta is a broadcast bait designed to control imported and native fire ants. It is applied outdoors to lawns, turf, landscaped areas, golf courses, sod farms, nurseries, and other non-crop/non-grazed areas like parks and athletic fields. The product can be applied using a handheld or walk-behind spreader or motorized mechanical equipment.

Timing & weather

Apply Siesta at the first sign of fire ant activity.
For best results, apply Siesta in the early morning or late afternoon when ants are most active.
Ants are most active when temperatures are above 60° F.
DO NOT apply when the ground is saturated with water, heavy dew, or when heavy rains are expected within 12 hours.
DO NOT water-in granules after application.
Wait at least 12 hours after application before irrigating treated area.
For best results, allow 7 days after bait application before applying a contact insecticide to the bait treated area.

Use restrictions 4

DO NOT graze or feed lawn or sod clippings to livestock.
DO NOT apply to the soil around fruit and nut trees more than 4 times per year.
