Academy is a protective fungicide designed for post-harvest treatment of pome fruit (including apple, pear, quince, and various cultivars). It contains two active ingredients: Difenoconazole (Group 3, 20.9%) and Fludioxonil (Group 12, 12.5%). It is used to control several post-harvest diseases such as Alternaria rot, bitter rot, blue mold, bull's-eye rot, gray mold, Phacidioscyphus rot, rhizopus rot, speck rot, Sphaeropsis rot, and white rot. The product is a flowable suspension concentrate that can be applied via bin/truck drench, in-line dip/drench, or in-line aqueous or fruit coating spray. For drenching, use 16 fl oz per 100 gallons of water; for fruit coating spray, use 16 fl oz per 200,000 lb of fruit. Always maintain agitation of the solution during use. Handling requires specific PPE, including long-sleeved shirts, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves (barrier laminate, butyl, nitrile, neoprene, or polyvinyl chloride), and a NIOSH-approved particulate facepiece respirator with N95, R, or P filters. Avoid contact with water, food, or feed. Do not use near heat or open flames.
